International Public Realm Competition

Hulme Upright was one of six architect-led teams shortlisted for the final stage of an International RIBA competition to develop the public realm of Stoke-on-Trent City Centre.

Our proposals included significant new public squares connected by distinctive streets, along with the introduction of green roofs to improve air quality and facilities to promote sustainable transport via bike or cable car.

The judges praised the exuberance of our proposals, the rich range of ideas and our innovative approach to sustainable design.
