David Vokes
Prior to joining Hulme Upright in August 1998, David worked for Biscoe & Stanton Architects, London where he completed projects for the retail, industrial and commercial sectors. He was also in a team which designed a number of social housing schemes in the South East and was part of the design team on a large new build multi-storey office development in Southend on Sea and for the refurbishment of a series of listed office buildings in the City of London and the West End.
Since joining the Practice, David has now taken over as Deputy Managing Director and has expanded his experience to include projects for the education, housing, elderly persons’ accommodation, healthcare, leisure, HM Prison Services and Ministry of Defence sectors.
He is currently the Director in charge of a large team responsible for designing and delivering villages in Warrington, St Helens, Sheffield, Nottingham and Gloucester. He also has a number of other projects at both concept and planning stage. He has also been the lead designer on a number of office developments since joining the Practice and has been the Director in charge of developments in Derby, Crewe and Stoke on Trent. He is also looking at a number of further commercial opportunities in the North West.
