We are heavily involved in projects that directly affect our local community and Trent Vale Church Institute is a very good example of how we work with local churches and community groups to help restore and renovate redundant or underutilised facilities on a budget.
Our client was awarded a lottery grant of £160,000 to refurbish this 324 square metre 1950’s community facility on the A34 outside Newcastle under Lyme.
A new glazed entrance and coffee bar was formed to give the building a public address to the main road. New windows were fitted in the dance hall and meeting rooms providing much needed natural light and ventilation to the spaces. The building was fully re-wired and a new heating system was installed. A new disabled toilet, disabled lift and hearing induction loop were also installed to ensure that all members of the community could enjoy the facilities.
Trent Vale Church Institute now hosts a variety of social, educational and recreational events including dance, sewing, computer and art classes. The hall is available for private hire and can also cater for buffet lunches and hot meals.
